The Fall session of the Legislature will resume on November 12 at 2 p.m. with the Speech from the Throne. “We will be building on the progress that’s been made by this Government on education, the environment, economic development and providing integrated health support to all Islanders,” said Premier Robert Ghiz. “While I’m pleased with the progress that’s been made to date, we understand there’s more work to be done to ensure this Island and it’s citizens are well supported for generations to come.”
Almost 30 pieces of legislation will be tabled, including the following: • Environmental Protection Act • School Act • Teachers’ Superannuation Act • Fisheries Act • Highway Traffic Act • Animal Care Act “We’re looking forward to protecting the interests of all Islanders and making PEI an even greater place to live, work and raise a family,” said Government House leader Sonny Gallant. “I’d like to take this opportunity to remind citizens that House proceedings are open to the public and encourage people to get involved and watch.” Visitors to the public gallery can follow on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Full proceedings are broadcast live on the Internet at www.assembly.pe.ca and on Eastlink television.
